What do we do

Our objective as an organization is to create a place in the child’s home to be their safe-haven. In this room the child doesn’t have to worry about going to the hospital or the treatment they go through on a daily basis. Our goal is to create an atmosphere that will lift the spirit of the child through a room where they can laugh, play, and let their inner light shine, their DREAM ROOM. During the process of getting to know the child we encourage them to live a healthy lifestyle to help fight their illness.

Our History and How Donations are Used

​Sweet Dreams Foundation was founded in 2006 by Jennifer Richards. At just 21 years old, she had a vision of giving joy to children when they were terribly ill. The inspiration came when she was just 11 years old, watching both her grandfather and her childhood friend pass away from cancer. Watching how the cancer stole their lives, she wanted to bring love and support to children who were suffering illness.

When first founded, Sweet Dreams Foundation gave one dream room per year for the first three years. The next three years it grew to 2 bedrooms per year, and then in 2014 it was 5 dream bedrooms, 2015 it grew to 7 rooms and then 10 years after founding, in 2016, we granted 10 dream bedrooms! In 2017, Bayside Church (Granite Bay, Midtown, Blue Oaks, Adventure and Folsom) joined forces and helped to create 20 dream bedrooms.  Since that time, we have continued to grow and started a new program giving Roos Wraps baby wraps to NICU and other medically fragile babies in 2021. Hope in Every Drop was created in 2025. And now in 2026 our goal is to deliver over 30 dream bedrooms this year.

You can be confident that donations provided to Sweet Dreams Foundation will help us serve as many children and babies as possible.  There are so many in need, and when we have the necessary funding we can bring them a safe haven! All rooms are created and delivered by volunteers and funded by sponsorships and donations. Rooms can cost anywhere from $5000 to $10,000 depending on the size, needs and family structure. We cannot do it without you!
